Oryukdo Skywalk Busan Guide

Oryukdo Skywalk is a glass-bottom observation deck extending over coastal cliffs in Busan, offering thrilling ocean views 35 meters above the waves. Located at Seungdumal Park, this popular attraction provides panoramic views of the famous Oryukdo Islands and the East Sea.

Location: Igidaero, Nam-gu, Busan
Entrance fee: FREE
Opening hours: 9 AM – 6 PM (closed first Monday of each month for maintenance)
Length: 15 meters (shorter than most expect)
Width: U-shaped walkway, about 2 meters wide
Capacity: 15 people maximum at one time

Oryukdo Skywalk is completely free. No tickets or entrance fees required. Just show up during operating hours and walk on.

Worth it if: You’re already in southern Busan, enjoy coastal views, want free activities, or appreciate glass-bottom experiences.

Skip if: You expect a long experience (it’s only 15 meters), you’re coming from far away just for this, or you have severe fear of heights.

Honest assessment: The skywalk itself takes only 2-3 minutes to walk. Most visitors spend 15-20 minutes total including photos. It’s a nice addition to a Busan itinerary but not worth traveling far specifically for. The surrounding coastal park and views are actually more impressive than the skywalk itself.

Oryukdo Skywalk vs Songdo Skywalk

Oryukdo Skywalk:

  • Free entrance
  • Shorter (15 meters)
  • Higher elevation (35 meters above sea)
  • Views of Oryukdo Islands
  • Less crowded
  • More dramatic cliff setting
  • Limited surrounding activities

Songdo Skywalk:

  • 3,000 KRW entrance fee
  • Longer walking path
  • Lower to water
  • Beach access and cable car nearby
  • More crowded
  • Better for families with more facilities
  • Part of larger beach complex

Which is better? Songdo offers more activities and longer experience. Oryukdo has more dramatic views and is free. If you can only visit one, choose based on location convenience rather than the skywalk itself.

The glass-bottom sections create unique photo opportunities. Best shots include looking straight down at the waves, silhouettes against the ocean, and panoramic views of Oryukdo Islands.

Visit during golden hour (late afternoon) for warm lighting. Weekday mornings have fewer crowds for cleaner photos. The viewing platform next to the skywalk actually provides better composition for wide scenic shots.
