Goyang International Flower Festival in Korea
Goyang International Flower Festival in Korea

Let's know about flower festival of Korea

Korea is renowned for its vibrant and colorful flower festivals, celebrated throughout the year, showcasing the country’s rich floral beauty and horticultural traditions. We are going to explore each of them and how they celebrate. This is Gazi, who came in Korea last in 2023 as a IBA student.

Goyang International Flower Festival is one of Korea’s largest flower festivals. It features truly spectacular floral displays, garden tours, and flower-themed cultural performances. I used to explore it on the internet and found it very interesting. After coming here and experiencing the whole event, I found it really fascinating. However, if you want to gain this experience, you have to come to Korea in April and May at Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Taean Tulip Festival

I was born in May. Oh, it’s not the time to talk about my birthday, but enjoying the Taean Tulip Festival in May is amazing. Famous for its extensive tulip fields, this festival showcases millions of tulips in a variety of vibrant colors and artistic arrangements. To enjoy this beautiful event, you need to come to Korea and go straight to Taean, Chungcheongnam-do.

Cherry Blossom Festivals

Cherry Blossom Festivals are celebrated throughout Korea. I got the chance to experience the event. I went to Jamsil, famous for Lotte World Tower. I took pictures and walked around the park. I think you should come and enjoy the whole event. You cannot get the vibe just by reading about Korean cherry blossom festivals. The whole of Korea comes alive when the cherry blossoms bloom, but to get the full vibe of the festivals, Jinhae, Seoul, and Jeju Island are perfect. Oh, remember to come in late March to early April.

Hampyeong Butterfly Festival

Have you heard about the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival? If not, no problem. It’s a unique festival I experienced in Korea. It combines butterfly exhibitions with various floral displays. Visitors can experience butterfly releases, insect-related exhibits, and hands-on activities. Sounds curious?

However, if you want to enjoy it, make sure you are in Hampyeong, Jeollanam-do, from April to May.

Gurye Sansuyu Festival

Gurye Sansuyu Festival, celebrating the blooming of the sansuyu (cornelian cherry) trees, is also fascinating festival. It’s pretty like the bright yellow flowers create stunning landscapes, complemented by cultural events and local cuisine. It’s celebrated Mid-March at Gurye, Jeollanam-do.

Boseong Green Tea Festival

Although primarily a green tea festival, the event also features beautiful green tea fields with flower displays, tea ceremonies, and tea-related experiences.

The great thing about green tea bushes in Boseong is that they are green year-round. The bushes may look a little more bare or lush depending on if they’ve just been harvested, and the surrounding scenery of trees on the mountain may change accordingly, but in general, the Boseong green tea fields are open year-round and green. To experience the festival, make sure to come in May to Boseong, Jeollanam-do.

Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal (Tea Bowl) Festival

Are you coming to Korea in late April?

Go to Mungyeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Why?

The Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal (Tea Bowl) Festival will change your mood! I am always amazed by Korean tradition. The festival focuses on traditional Korean ceramics with beautiful floral motifs. Visitors can enjoy pottery-making experiences and traditional tea ceremonies.

Seoul Rose Festival

Another remarkable event in Seoul is the Seoul Rose Festival. It features a stunning display of roses along the stream, with various cultural performances, parades, and photo opportunities.

Seoul is always fascinating. If you want to see the Seoul Rose Festival, you have to come in May. It mainly takes place along Jungnangcheon Stream in Seoul.

Iksan Ten Million Chrysanthemums Festival

The annual Iksan Ten Million Chrysanthemum Festival is held every year from late October to early November at Iksan Jungang Sports Complex.

The festival features an outdoor chrysanthemum exhibit, a national chrysanthemum artwork contest, cultural performances and many more. Citizens, business, and organizations also put their own chrysanthemum flowers outside to support the festival and to promote Iksan’s image.
