Bogyeongsa Waterfall

The 12-meter waterfall behind the main temple hall is Bogyeongsa’s most photographed feature. Water cascades down rocky cliffs into a clear pool, creating a peaceful atmosphere perfect for meditation.

The waterfall is most impressive after rainfall, though it flows year-round. A viewing platform allows close-up views, and the sound of falling water adds to the temple’s serene ambiance. The waterfall is accessible via a 5-minute walk from the main temple buildings.

Bogyeongsa Hike

Multiple hiking trails connect to the temple, ranging from easy walks to moderate mountain hikes. The main trail from the parking lot to the temple is a gentle 15-20 minute uphill walk through forest. For longer hikes, trails lead to Naeyeonsan Mountain peak (710 meters) taking 2-3 hours round trip with panoramic views of Pohang and the East Sea.

Another popular route circles the temple area in about 1 hour, passing through pine forests and rocky outcrops. Trails are well-marked but can be steep and rocky in sections. Proper hiking shoes recommended.
