I am going to share my own experience and I have a lots of friends in others universities I asked them their experience as well! Let’s deep dive on it.
#1. Seoul National University

Seoul National University is a public research university in Seoul, South Korea. Widely considered the most prestigious university in South Korea, SNU is a national research university established in 1946. It is a beacon of academic excellence, consistently producing leaders in various fields.
SNU is renowned for its comprehensive excellence across a vast array of subjects, including engineering, natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, medicine, and law. It often tops national rankings in almost every discipline.
Many influential figures in Korean society, including former presidents, CEOs of major corporations, and prominent scholars, are SNU alumni.
#2. KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology)

Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is a public (Government-funded research institute) university located in Daedeok Innopolis, Daejeon, South Korea. KAIST is Korea’s premier science and technology university, established in 1971. It is a research-intensive institution focused on advanced science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
KAIST is globally recognized for its cutting-edge research and education in all fields of science and engineering, particularly in areas like AI, robotics, nanotechnology, and computer science. It is also known for being the only university in South Korea where 100% of lectures are conducted in English. KAIST has produced numerous innovators and leaders in the tech and scientific industries.
#3. POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology)

Pohang University of Science and Technology is a private research university in Pohang, South Korea. POSTECH is a young yet highly acclaimed research university, established in 1986. It has rapidly gained a reputation as a premier research institution on the global stage.
POSTECH is dedicated to scientific research, innovation, and academic excellence, particularly in fields like materials science, chemical engineering, and other core sciences and engineering. Its alumni are making significant contributions in scientific research and technological innovation.

#5. Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU)

SKKU is renowned for its strengths in engineering, business, medicine, and the humanities, as well as its strong global partnerships. Historically, SKKU educated many scholars and officials during the Joseon Dynasty. In modern times, it continues to produce influential individuals across various sectors.

Korea University is a private research university in Seoul, South Korea. Established in 1905, Korea University is one of the country’s oldest, largest, and most prestigious private universities. It is known for its strong emphasis on social responsibility and national identity.

It’s often seen as a rival to Yonsei University, creating the famous “Yon-Ko Jeon” (Yonsei-Korea Games) rivalry. Established in 2009, UNIST is a world-class university rapidly gaining a reputation for its research and impact. It is uniquely committed to conducting all lectures in English.
UNIST is known for its cutting-edge research in various scientific and engineering disciplines, with a particular focus on advanced materials, energy, and biomedical engineering. It has been designated as one of the world’s foremost graphene R&D institutions. As a relatively young institution, its alumni are quickly rising in the fields of science and technology.

Sejong University is a private research university located in Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 1940, Sejong University is a private research university named after King Sejong the Great.
Sejong University is highly regarded for its programs in hospitality and tourism management, animation, dance, rhythmic gymnastics, computer science, and AI. The university has produced notable figures in the arts, particularly in dance and acting.
#11. Kyungpook National University (KNU)

Kyungpook National University is a public university located in Daegu, which used to be the capital city of the Gyeongbuk Province, South Korea.
